Another speedpainting, 30 minutes this time. I’m in the process of a bigger painting right now, but i wanted to actually finish something.
In the wide world of bizarre coincidences: I painted this yesterday morning. Yesterday afternoon i started thinking it would be a great idea to get back into ‘finishing’ an quick study every day again (whether a digital speedpainting or something else – i did pencil drawings every day for years, but somehow dropped the habit in the middle of art school. Turns out art school is not so great for encouraging one to actually make art). Yesterday evening i picked up the latest copy of Professional Artist, which includes an article on daily painting and DailyPaintworks.com. A whole community of people who paint every day? Excellent!
Except Daily Paintworks seems to focus exclusively on artists who sell their original works. I’m obviously not opposed to this, but it doesn’t work too well for digital paintings. Ah well… I did notice several artists selling prints of their digital works, so i guess i could swing it, but considering reproductions are the vast minority, i think i’ll wait a bit. Maybe i’ll even find a digital-artist alternative to Daily Paintworks in the meantime.
I do plan on learning how to screenprint at some point in the next few months, and i’m fairly certain any daily study artwork won’t permanently be digital speedpaintings, so i definitely plan on poking around Daily Paintworks at some point in the future.
Reproductions of digital art available starting at $10.44
