Sketch: The Other Mother

Based on the Other Mother from Neil Gaiman’s book, Coraline. I say “from the book” and not “from the film” because i haven’t seen the film. And probably won’t – not because i didn’t like the book (i did) but because my taste in books and in films are so ridiculously different. I think the only time i’ve liked both the book and the film is in the case of “Night Watch,” and truth be told “Night Watch” the film and Night Watch the book are dramatically different.

Also… This was meant to be a ten-minute sketch. Thirty minutes and some rendering later i started thinking “if i am going to be doing a finished piece i really should have started at a decent resolution instead of crappy sketchblog 150ppi” and quit in a very half-finished state.
