I… may have been a bit irritated with our current administration at the time. Something about my government attacking a Syria construction site in an attempt to kill terrorists, and instead killing a bunch of civilians, including four kids. I mean, why would i be irritated about that.
It still kind of ticks me off, actually. In America, you could be a ten-year-old serial killer, and you’re sent to a kind foster home with parents who are trained to care for troubled children. Or an orphanage-type institution for troubled children. Or maximum-security juvie. In the Middle East, all you have to do is stand too close to some place American soldiers think is a terrorist hideout, and it’s all, PEW PEW PEW!
